The Bass Player s Role - 1669 Words

In a band context, every member of the band has a different role. It is the vocalist s job to deliver the lyrics to the audience, it is the drummer who conveys the rhythm, and it is the lead guitarist who gets all the chicks. What does the bass player do? What is the Bass Player s Role? The role of the bass player is determined based on the type of band that you are in. Depending on who else is playing, their skill level, and what type of music you are playing, the bass player s role can change dramatically. Take, for example, the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Their bass player, Flea, is a dominant part of the band. His line is often the most recognizable part of a song, and he drives the rhythm and melody. His role is to help lead the band. In contrast, look at the bass player for the backup band for Jessica Simpson, or Britney Spears. Who are they? Nobody knows, and that is the role of the bass player. You will very rarely hear them deviate from a backup role, something that is just the re to provide some low end to the overall mix. So what role do you play in a band? For most bass players, it is going to be a mix between leading and supporting. Similarities And Differences Between Prokaryotic And...

There are many different kinds of cells, but the biggest division is between the cells of the prokaryotic kingdom (the bacteria) and those of the other four kingdoms (animals, plants, fungi and protoctista), which are all eukaryotes. Prokaryotes and eukaryotes are both believed to have originated from LUCA, the last universal common ancestor (Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). Prokaryotic cells are smaller and simpler than eukaryotic cells, and do not consist of a nucleus or any membrane-bound organelles. (Klitou,2012). Prokaryotes were the only form of life on Earth for millions of years until more complicated eukaryotic cells came, through the process of evolution. According to the symbiotic association hypothesis, it states that the eukaryotic kingdom was developed when ancient anaerobic hosts where engulfed which then developed into the first organelles producing energy (Vellai, Vida, 1999). Moreover prokaryotic cells and eukaryotic cells have many similarities but also differen ces. The differences categorize cells under prokaryotes or eukaryotes and thus determine the functions and process the cell can undertake. Prokaryotes and eukaryotes are both composed of cells. Mexican government considered the benefits that would accrue from a labor agreement and disregarded his initial concerns. After the signing of his agreement the recruitment stations were created. The braceros were recruited in Ciudad Juarez across from El Paso, Texas. The recruitment sites became crowded of Mexicans who were unemployed and wanted to go to the U.S. to work. Although the braceros that were chosen were those who had agricultural experience many other Mexicans who were unable to obtain a bracero permit bribed the officials into selecting them. Many individuals who were not able to obtain permits chose to enter the U.S. illegally. The number of illegals who entered the U.S during the tenure of the Bracer program was equal to or surpassed the number of braceros. Upon recruitment, the braceros were fingerprinted and issued a work permit. Upon arrival to the United States, the braceros were taken into processing centers where they were searched for marijuana, weapons or any contrabands and sprayed with DDT to prevent any carrying disease (Calavita, 2010). Migrant workers were employed by groups and were housed in the same village to make it easier for the growers to pick up and drop off after a long day at work. Most of what was promised for the braceros by the America government did not happen.
